Ancaster Fall Fair Booth

GHBA’s, booth at the Ancaster Fall Fair is popular with children and adults of all ages! Everyone stops to examine our observation window which enables you to “peak inside” a hive & watch the bees activities on honey frames. Look for the queen bee! Local beekeepers are on hand to answer questions and talk bees, honey, beeswax and honey bees’ importance to agriculture.

Rodney and Carolyne

====================

Carolyne and I have been members of the Golden Horseshoe Beekeepers Association (GHBA) for three years now.  We had just moved to the Beamsville area on our new farm. Having just completed a beekeeping course through the Ontario Beekeeping Association (OBA) and with new hives on the property, we were eager to find a beekeeping community in our area. A beekeeping equipment
vendor of ours suggested we attend the GHB meetings. At the first meeting,
people were friendly and very helpful with advice. The format of the meeting
was very informative and we appreciated the variety of guest speakers and
topics that were covered. Over these past few years, we have appreciated the
new friends we have made and the generosity of club members when it comes to
helping us out. We have several of our GHB friends who have provided a
tremendous life line during some turbulent moments in our beekeeping
careers. We rely on income from our hives in the form of honey production,
so we appreciate being part of a club that has significant persons of
experience and a wealth of beekeeping knowledge. We have learned so much and
this has made us more more confident in our skills as beekeepers. We would
definitely recommend the club to anyone who wants to learn about beekeeping.
